Stay Safe While Shopping Online This Season

The year’s busiest shopping weeks are here: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas just around the corner.
With online purchases taking center stage — even more so this year — it’s critical to be extra vigilant against fraud attempts and online scams.

Key Points for Safe Online Shopping

  1. Keep devices updated – Always have the latest software and antivirus protection.
  2. Buy from trusted websites – Avoid following links from unknown pages or emails. Use your bookmarks when possible and double-check that the URL is correct.
  3. Check for secure connections – Before entering passwords or payment details, ensure the site has a valid SSL certificate (look for the padlock icon next to the URL).
  4. Beware of unrealistic offers – If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  5. Verify emails before clicking – Don’t open attachments or click links from unverified senders. Always check what’s after the “@” in the address. For example: your_buy@amazon_selling.com is not a legitimate Amazon email.
  6. Watch for generic greetings – If a message starts with “Client,” “User,” or “Friend,” rather than your name, treat it with suspicion.

🔒 Tip: A few extra seconds of checking can save you from a costly scam.

We wish you a safe and happy shopping season.
